Gilbert de Clare, son of the last earl (but five years old at his father`s death) succeeded upon his mother`s death on 10 May 1305, and the said Ralph`s formal surrender thereof of the title in 1307,the inheritance was divided between his sisters in 1316, who were: (1) Eleanor, m. to Hugh le Despencer, the younger son of Hugh, Earl of Gloucester. (2) Margaret, m. 1st to Piers Faveston, Earl of Cornwall, and 2ndly, to Hugh de Audley, created Earl of Gloucester after her brother`s death. (3) Elizabeth, m. 1st. to John de Burgh who d. before his father, Richard, Earl of Ulster; 2ndly to Theobald, Lord Verdon, and 3rdly, to Roger D`Amory, Baron of Armoy. (4) Sybil, 4th dau. and co-heir of William Mareschal, Earl of Pembroke and Lord of Leinster, married William de Ferrers: Earl of Ferrers, Nottingham and Derby, LORD OF KILDARE, 1245. He
