Jurastudium in Bonn und Berlin, 1867-1877 Landrat im Landkreis Guben in Brandenburg,
Mitglied im Provinziallandtag von Schleswig-Holstein, Vorsitzender des Provinzialausschusses, Klosterpropst in Preetz, Wirklicher Geheimer Rat, Oberleutnant a. D. der Landwehr.
